Service networks represent a commonly used but less
defined building. As part of the Special Edition Business Marketing Management
of service networks, we provide an overview of the different ways of
understanding service networks, in particular from the point of view of
corporate marketing and service systems. We provide our definition of service
networks and introduce three different conceptual strands. These lines are used
to describe the various articles in the special edition. Discussing a promising
research program concludes our topic.
