cmputer network specialist requirements

How to become a network administrator

In most cases, this job requires a part-time degree or bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology. There are also a number of certifications that can help you find better-paying jobs, such as CompTIA Network +, CompTIA Security +, and Cisco CCNA. In some cases, it might be helpful to get supplier certifications, depending on the products and platforms your employer works with.

Advanced rates aren't usually required for a network administrator position, but they can help you stand out from the competition, and in some cases, some employers prefer or require them.

How long does it take to become a network administrator?

If you're pursuing continuing education, you could become an entry-level network administrator in a few years, while postgraduate study usually takes 3-5 years. It is also wise to think about gaining internship experience.

There are entry-level network administrator positions available, but more advanced and senior roles require additional years of experience and sometimes more training. Certificates are also valuable and can help you get a position faster.

computer support specialist salary

I have to admit that these numbers shocked me when I first saw them. A few years ago, the field of information support did not anticipate such growth. That’s nearly 200 new computer support professional jobs per U.S. state. This is a huge job that needs to be filled.

Usually when I see lists of jobs on an empty stomach, they are full of medical jobs or financial careers that seem light years away for the average Joe to achieve. But IT support is an area that is ripe for Americans who are just entering the workforce, don’t have a degree, or are looking for a career change.

computer support specialist salary

Whether you have a degree or not, you can become a successful computer support specialist. And even four years won’t take you. The great news is also that you can probably switch to a computer support professional in your existing business. This happens every day, as most organizations still have internal IT departments. So if you love your current employer but aren’t happy with your current role, this can be a great option.

how to configure lan network

A local area network (LAN) is the smallest network, usually in a base station or inside a building, used to connect computing resources including computers, printers, servers, IP phones or gateways. Internal LAN connections are physically wired and all office resources are shared and distributed across network centers. The most common type of LAN is Ethernet, a family of computer-based network technology. But do you know how to configure the LAN system? What do you need when setting up a LAN?

how to configure lan network

It is not an easy project to create a LAN network (seen in the image below), especially at the beginning of the communication subject. It is therefore recommended that you make a complete plan before moving on to the next one. Network components such as router cables, Ethernet cables, Ethernet switches, and network connectivity are the foundation of LAN. Computers are connected to keys with Ethernet cables. Make sure the cable length does not exceed 100 meters or about 300 feet. Each device must have a unique IP address. In addition, you must first identify the services you need to provide within the LAN. The next section will continue to provide detailed instructions on setting up a LAN.

how to set up a simple home network

Once upon a time, home networks were mostly home networks - most households didn’t need it or couldn’t afford more than one computer. Now, in addition to computers, they use them for email, people also use them for homework, shopping, instant messaging, downloading music and videos, and playing games. For many families, one computer is not enough to visit. In a multi-computer home, a home network is often essential as a technical toy.

a lan network

Local area network (LAN), any communications network for connecting computers within a building or small group of buildings. A LAN can be configured as a bus (1), a main route to which secondary nodes or channels are connected in a branch frame, (2) a ring, where each computer is connected to two adjacent computers to make a closed circuit, or (3 ) a star, in which each computer is connected directly to a central computer and indirectly to each other. All of them have advantages, although bus installation is the most common.

Even if only two computers are connected, they must follow rules or protocols to communicate. For example, one person might send a "ready to send" signal and wait for the other to give a "ready to send." When multiple computers share a network, the protocol may include "talk only when it's your turn" or "don't talk while someone else is talking". Protocols must also be designed to handle network errors.

The most popular LAN design since the mid-1970s is bus-connected Ethernet, originally developed by Xerox PARC. Every computer or other device on Ethernet has a unique 48-bit address. Every computer that tries to send a signal listens to a transmission signal indicating that a transmission is in progress. If it receives nothing, it starts sending, it sends the recipient's address at the beginning of its sending. Every system on the Internet receives all messages but ignores those that are not targeted. While a system is launching, it also listens and if it detects simultaneous transmission, it stops, stops randomly, and tries again. Random delays before retry reduce the likelihood of relapse. This system is called a Multi-Sense Carrier with Collision Detection (CSMA / CD). It works very well until the network is moderately loaded, and then slows down when collisions are more frequent.

how to set up a lan network

Development of LANs

In the 1960s, computers that were mostly used were mainframes, and only a few organizations could afford them because of their high cost. The concept of time sharing was popular during this period. It was common practice to use a stupid terminal on a mainframe using a telephone line and lease or share computer time. The biggest problem was the slowness of the computer process.

With the advent of minicomputers in the 1970s, they found a solution to this problem. It could accommodate more terminals and more and more people could afford mini computers. The expansion of the minis led to the need for communication between them to share the data stored in them.

Computer resources in organizations have increased with the advent of microprocessors and advances in integrated circuit technology. (Halsall, 1988). It soon became common to find many products from different manufacturers that are physically located in the same building. Although they could act as autonomous computers, it was often necessary to establish mutual communication. As microcomputers became more powerful and less expensive, they were used by more people who had their own databases and exchanged data. The provided communication device is called a private local data network. Therefore, it is clear that only with the advent of microcomputers was the implementation of LAN possible and necessary. (Schatt, 1987).

LAN components

Each LAN workstation, which can be a microcomputer, a barcode reader or a text editor, can act as a standalone equipment, but is connected to a central control unit through which they can communicate (exchange data, share software or hardware) with other workstations in network. Although each workstation can operate independently, it cannot control the activities of other stations on the network. To avoid data corruption or collisions during communication, several techniques are used to control data transfer, such as Career Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection (CSMA / CD) and Career Sense Multiple Access / Collision Invention. Further information on these techniques will not be given here as they do not fall within the scope of this paper. Figure 1 shows the basic components of a LAN (Collier, 1988).

basic knowledge of networking concepts

Computer network definition

A computer network is a digital telecommunications network that allows nodes to share resources. In computer networks, computing devices exchange data with each other using connections (data links) between nodes. These data links are established on wired media such as optical cables or cables or wireless media such as Wi-Fi.

Advantages of the computer network

There are many advantages of computer networking and advantages of computer networking, some of them are File Sharing, Resource Sharing, Better Connectivity, and Communications are briefly explained below.

basic knowledge of networking concepts

File Sharing: The basic goals of a computer network are to allow file sharing and remote access to files.

Server-client model: The client-server model is a distributed application framework. The server is a master system that stores data and provides the processing service. A client is a user system that accesses data from the server and can perform the processing on its own system or on a server system.

Resource Sharing: All resources such as printers, modems, scanners and faxes etc. they can be shared throughout the system on a computer network.

Better connectivity and communications: A computer network allows all users or computers in a different location to communicate easily, a widely used example is email, video conferencing, etc.
