data cabling installation

A structured cabling system is a complete cabling system and associated hardware, which provides a complete telecommunication infrastructure. This infrastructure serves a wide range of uses, such as providing telephone services or transmitting data through a computer network. It should not depend on the device.

We further define a cabling system structured in terms of properties. The structured cabling system starts at the point where the service provider (SP) ends. This point is the demarcation point or Network Interface Device (NID).

For example, in an installation of the telephone system, SP provides one or more service lines (based on customer needs). The SP connects the service lines to the demarcation point.
